About
Maker first, then designer.
Homeware design and development, from first sketch to production. Ceramic, glass and brass.
The story
From brass workshop to my own designs

I learned product on a factory floor.
My first business was J P Hardware, a brass manufacturer and exporter I started in Aligarh, India, a city that has worked brass for generations. Making things taught me what a finish really takes, how long a good sample takes, and that the maker matters as much as the drawing.
Then I moved to the other side of the table. With Indware I imported hardware into the UK and learned what buyers and customers actually want from it.
G Decor brought the two together. I design pieces in ceramic, glass and solid brass and develop them directly with partner workshops in India, China and Europe: costing, sampling, production and quality. Our pieces go into homes across the UK, Europe and the US.
I also designed two homes of my own, which is where my love of materials together, marble, wood and brass, comes from.
Alongside the making, I hold an MBA from Aston Business School, with a specialism in e-Business.
Point of view
What design means to me
Design is a statement of luxury that is unique in its own way.
A piece in a home is a work of art you use every day. A door knob is touched more than any painting on the wall, so it should be just as considered.
I work in the materials I know best: ceramic, glass, brass and other metals, with marble and wood as the materials I love to bring alongside them.
